On February 21, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation. The leaders discussed the strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations, as well as exchanged views on topical international issues, the press service of the head of Uzbekistan reported.
During the conversation, the sides summed up the implementation of the agreements reached during Vladimir Putin's visit to Uzbekistan in May last year. Special attention was paid to the growth dynamics of key indicators of trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as support for industrial cooperation projects in the regions of both countries.
The Presidents also discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral events. The Kremlin noted that the parties expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of relations. It was emphasized that there is a significant increase in trade turnover, major joint projects in the energy sector and industry are being successfully implemented, and cooperation between the regions continues to develop actively.
