On February 16, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov took part in the opening of the Conference of Emerging Markets, held in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Finance of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and brought together finance ministers of leading developing countries, central bank governors, representatives of international organizations and economic experts.
Opening the event, Saudi Finance Minister Muhammad Al-Jadan and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva stressed the importance of dialogue on key challenges of the global economy. The main theme of the conference is "Sustainable Growth: Building Resilience in a Changing World". Participants discussed global economic trends, ways to improve the resilience of national economies, and risk mitigation measures.
Special attention was paid to the interaction of developing countries with international financial institutions, effective public debt management and ensuring macroeconomic stability. Participants noted that such forums contribute to strengthening regional and international cooperation.
The conference included thematic sessions on the impact of global economic change on developing countries, financial policies, investment and the sustainability of public finances.
