On September 27, 2025, Tashkent will host one of the most significant events of the global technology calendar — Web Summit Spotlight. This is the first Web Summit event in the history of Central Asia, and it demonstrates the growing role of the region on the global innovation map. The organizers are the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park Uzbekistan together with the international Web Summit team.
Web Summit traditionally takes place in Lisbon and gathers more than 70 thousand participants-from founders of companies and venture funds to leaders of major corporations. In recent years, the conference has expanded its geography, launching events in Rio de Janeiro, Vancouver, Hong Kong and Doha. Now Tashkent has joined this list, which opens up new prospects for integrating the local technology ecosystem into the global innovation space.
The main topic of the upcoming forum will be the role of Uzbekistan as a rapidly growing startup hub in the region. In 2025, the country entered the top 100 of the global StartupBlink ecosystem ranking for the first time and showed record growth, confirming the status of the most dynamically developing ecosystem in Central Asia. Additionally, this was noted by the Startup Genome analytical center, which strengthened Uzbekistan's position as an important player in the international technology environment.
Representatives of leading venture funds, accelerators and corporations, including Plug and Play Tech Center, StartupBlink, GB Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, Google for Startups and EndeavorXR will perform on the Web Summit Spotlight stage in Tashkent. The focus will be on global trends in startups, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and venture capital investment.
A special place in the program will be occupied by Investor's Room — a closed session for direct communication between startups and investors. This creates unique conditions for establishing partnerships, presenting projects and attracting funding. Thus, the event will become not only a platform for knowledge exchange, but also a real tool for attracting investment to the country and region.
