BMW has officially unveiled the X1 crossover and the 2026 electric version of the iX1, which received an updated design, new trim options and improved technical solutions. The starting price of the updated X1 is about $ 42,200, while the electric iX1 is $ 39,900.
The cars retained the brand's signature design, but became more expressive due to the M Sport Night Edition package, which is introduced for the first time in this series. As part of the update, there are new body colors: Brooklyn Gray, Starry Blue and Flame Red. For the X1 xDrive25Li and iX1 xDrive30L models, the M Sport package has been upgraded with glossy black accents that enhance the sporty look of the crossovers.
The interior features a 10.25-inch digital dashboard and a 10.7-inch center screen. The Harman Kardon audio system has been improved, trim materials have been upgraded, and the sports seats have received updated stitching. In the basic equipment there is an additional USB connector for the back row, and when installing a projection display, the number of ports increases to two.
The X1 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 167 kW (224 hp) with 300 Nm of torque, which is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The electric version of the iX1 is available in two versions: with one electric motor with a power of 150 kW and a torque of 250 N * m, providing a power reserve of up to 510 km, or with two engines with a total power of 230 kW and a torque of 494 N·m, where the power reserve is about 450 km. The 66.45 kWh battery provides a balanced combination of performance and driving distance.
The new BMW X1 and iX1 demonstrate the company's desire to strengthen its position in the premium crossover segment, offering a wide range of options for buyers who are considering both traditional internal combustion engines and all-electric solutions.
