Yandex Uzbekistan presented an updated version of the search engine with the introduction of artificial intelligence adapted to the Uzbek language. The new functionality expands the capabilities of users in Uzbekistan-from processing complex queries to receiving content in the Uzbek language from foreign resources.
The core of the update was a neural network architecture that was trained in Uzbek texts. This allows the service to correctly interpret requests, accurately translate materials from English and Russian, and generate short responses that are relevant to the national and cultural context. The developers paid special attention to the quality of localization: now the system takes into account the peculiarities of vocabulary and idioms characteristic of Uzbekistan.
As a result of the update, more than 11.6 million translated texts became available to users, including materials from Wikipedia and specialized platforms like StackOverflow. The service integrates AI responses directly into search results, where they are displayed as a concise help above the list of links. If algorithms determine that a question requires an integral answer, the system synthesizes it from several sources. At the same time, a dialog option is available: the user can refine the request and get a detailed response in interactive mode.
The interface supports both Uzbek and Russian languages — The system responds in the language of the request. The user can ask both informational and personalized questions. For example, you can find out about the sights of Bukhara that you can visit in one day, or request the biography of an Uzbek football player who plays for a foreign club. The mechanism of work is based on the understanding of natural language, so that the search takes questions in a lively conversational form.
The new system also provides access to up-to-date information in real time. Even if the data appeared on the network several hours ago, the algorithm is able to take it into account. Links to primary sources are provided to confirm the accuracy of the response.
The Yandex Uzbekistan project has been implemented since 2018. The company consistently develops the digital ecosystem in the country, including geoservices, delivery, taxi, entertainment and educational platforms. The introduction of the updated search engine is another step towards technological integration and improving digital literacy in the region.
