Tashkent hosted negotiations between representatives of the Japanese company Orion Computer and the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The delegation was headed by Akihiro Sakurai, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies of Japan. On the Uzbek side, Deputy Minister Rustam Karimzhonov took part in the negotiations.
The meeting presented an initiative to create a new format of educational platform in Uzbekistan — a specialized school with advanced training in the field of information technology and the study of the Japanese language. It is assumed that the program will focus on accelerated training of qualified personnel who are able to find employment both in the domestic market and in Japanese technology companies.
The project includes the development of educational courses that meet the requirements of the Japanese IT industry. The training model will be adapted to Japanese standards and implemented in cooperation with relevant institutions in the country. The main focus will be on the synergy of theoretical training with practical cases from the field of programming, cybersecurity and digital solutions for business.
Prospects for developing the outsourcing potential of Uzbekistan were also discussed. The Japanese side expressed interest in attracting specialists trained at the new school to the projects of Japanese customers.
In addition, Orion Computer confirmed its participation in the upcoming ICT Week Uzbekistan, which will be held in September. As part of the business program of the event, it is planned to sign a number of agreements and finally determine the conditions for opening an official representative office of the company in the republic.
It is expected that the implementation of the project will become an important element in strengthening educational and technological cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, as well as improve the level of training of local IT personnel in accordance with international standards.
