The Starlink satellite communication system will start full operation in Kazakhstan in the third quarter of 2025. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev. According to him, the launch will provide high-speed Internet primarily to residents of remote and hard-to-reach regions where there is no fiber-optic infrastructure.
Connecting to Starlink will be available for all categories of users. The cost of equipment and services will be higher compared to traditional types of Internet access. At the moment, work is underway to coordinate tariffs, select sites for placing ground stations, and resolve technical issues related to the start of network operation.
The Ministry of Digital Development continues to develop fiber-optic communication lines in parallel, including their laying in rural settlements. Zhaslan Madiyev noted that wired and satellite technologies will be implemented simultaneously to ensure sustainable and high-quality Internet access for all residents of the country.
