On January 27, 2025, Uzbekistan announced the launch of new environmental initiatives aimed at improving air quality in major cities of the country. The program will modernize existing environmental standards and develop new technologies aimed at combating pollution.
The project includes the installation of new filters and treatment systems at enterprises, as well as the development of infrastructure for waste collection and processing. An important part of the program is the development of electric mobility, which will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions and improve the environmental situation in the country.
In addition, it is planned to create green zones and parks in large cities, as well as actively work to raise public awareness of the importance of environmental protection. The program will introduce a number of new tax incentives for enterprises that use environmentally friendly technologies. Minister of Ecology of Uzbekistan, Anvarbek MurodovHe noted that these measures are aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens and increasing the country's resilience to climate change. The implementation of the program will contribute not only to improving the environmental situation, but also to creating new jobs in the field of green technologies.
