Mazda has unveiled the first official images of the third-generation CX — 5 crossover, one of the brand's key models and the company's best-selling crossover. The photo shows the updated design of the car, which indicates an early premiere of the model.
The new CX-5 retains the proportions and corporate style of the previous version, but the body received a completely redesigned panel. Attention is drawn to the new shape of the front optics, which visually integrates with the radiator grille and partly resembles the solutions used in the design of the Mercedes-Benz EQC. The radiator grille has retained its characteristic shape, but has been redesigned with a new filling. A body kit made of unpainted plastic around the wheel arches emphasizes the off-road character of the model.
The CX-5's interior is expected to feature improved finishes, higher-quality materials, and state-of-the-art technology borrowed from older models, including the CX-90. Mazda also confirmed that the range will include its own hybrid version with the new SkyActiv-Z petrol engine, which will be characterized by increased power and efficiency.
The current generation of the CX-5 debuted in 2016, and the release of the new model is considered an important step in the development of the line. It is expected that the novelty will enter the US market as a model of 2026. The global premiere of the car is scheduled for the coming weeks. The CX-5 will continue to compete in the compact crossover segment with models such as the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V and Subaru Forester.
