CD Projekt Red confirmed that The Witcher IV game under development is created taking into account the features of modern video game consoles and is focused on achieving stable performance at 60 frames per second. The developers said that the experience of previous releases, including the problematic launch of Cyberpunk 2077, was carefully analyzed and taken into account in the work on the new project.
One of the studio's priorities was to ensure a comfortable gameplay experience on current-generation consoles. Special emphasis is placed on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, for which the team plans to implement full support for 60 fps. Representatives of CD Projekt Red emphasize that the new approach will avoid technical problems at the start, which faced the owners of previous consoles in the case of Cyberpunk 2077.
However, for the Xbox Series S, developers are not ready to guarantee a similar result. According to them, achieving a stable 60 frames per second on this platform remains extremely difficult due to the device's limited hardware resources. The studio notes that work on optimization continues, but the final performance parameters on this console are still questionable.
