Maingear has announced a new flagship laptop, the Ultima 18, aimed at enthusiasts and professional users who demand maximum performance. The device is equipped with an 18-inch display with a resolution of 4K and a refresh rate of 200 Hz, and in the older configuration offers mobile graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop and Intel Core Ultra 7 275HX processor.
The laptop supports the installation of up to four solid-state drives, and in the basic version it comes with 32 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SSD. Support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 is provided, which meets modern wireless standards.
The audio system includes five speakers, and a battery with a capacity of 98 Wh is responsible for autonomy. Considering the technical specifications and the large format screen, the weight of the device is about 4 kg.
The set of ports is limited, despite its size: two Thunderbolt 5, two USB-A ports, HDMI and a microSD card slot are available. The lack of an Ethernet port and a wider set of connectors may require the use of external hubs when connecting to a workstation.
The cost of Maingear Ultima 18 in the top configuration reaches $ 4,300, which makes it one of the most expensive mass-available laptops based on the Intel Meteor Lake platform. The device is aimed at users who need high frame rates in 4K resolution, ample storage and maximum graphics power in mobile form.
