The joint venture Changan Mazda presented a restyled version of the Mazda CX-5 crossover of the 2025 model range. The main change concerns the powertrain — the 2.5-liter engine, previously offered on older trim levels, is no longer in the line. The new CX-5 is available exclusively with the 2.0-liter 155 hp petrol engine and only with front-wheel drive.
All-wheel drive is excluded from all versions. A total of five trim levels are offered with prices ranging from $ 17,500 to $ 21,400, depending on the level of equipment. All versions are equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Among the new options is the Obsidian package, which offers advanced equipment for basic and advanced versions. It includes a 7-inch digital dashboard (for the initial configuration), black ceiling trim and red contrasting seat trim (for more expensive versions).
Available functions include: sunroof, cruise control (including adaptive for older trim levels), blind spot monitoring system, parking sensors, and all-round view system available in higher trim levels.
The 2025 Mazda CX-5 is focused on the needs of the Chinese market, where demand is shifting towards more fuel-efficient and affordable crossovers with front-wheel drive and compact powerplants.
