The Yandex ID service has received a major update: now users can manage up to 10 profiles from a single shared account, without having to re-enter their username and password. The new feature is designed to simplify access to various services and increase convenience for users who share personal, work and educational tasks.
According to the Yandex press service, the new system allows you to switch between profiles in one touch. All accounts are combined based on a single phone number: just enter a one-time code from an SMS or push notification once to get access to the entire group of profiles.
If the user has previously created an account with the linked number, a single account is formed automatically — with the ability to add other existing or new profiles to it. In case of a new registration, a centralized account is created immediately, to which you can link up to ten profiles.
The new feature is especially relevant for those who use different accounts for different purposes-from work and training to online shopping and entertainment services. At the same time, all profiles receive a common authorization system, the ability to quickly identify and log in without a password, including logging in using a fingerprint or face recognition in accordance with the WebAuthn standard.
In the upcoming updates, users will be able to set up a common payment method and access saved documents from any of the linked profiles. The company also said that in the future, the Yandex ID system will link profiles not only by phone number, but also by other parameters — details have not yet been disclosed.
Yandex ID is a unified authorization platform that provides fast and secure login to more than 45,000 sites and applications, including all key Yandex services. The system stores personal data, contacts, payment details, addresses and documents, and information security complies with the international standard ISO / IEC 27001.
