Swedish fintech startup Virtune has announced the launch of a new cryptocurrency index product called Virtune Coinbase 50 Index ETP (ticker VCOIN50), which is now available for trading on the German stock exchange Deutsche Börse Xetra. The new tool allows investors to gain diversified access to the top 50 cryptocurrencies listed on the Coinbase platform.
The VCOIN50 product is a physically backed exchange-traded index product (ETP) and tracks the Coinbase 50 Europe index. This index can be considered an analog of the S&P 500 stock, but in the field of digital assets. It is formed based on the market capitalization and liquidity of cryptocurrencies, which makes it a representative indicator of the state of the market.
The index is reviewed quarterly, which allows you to quickly take into account market changes and keep the composition up-to-date. Thus, investors receive a tool with a high degree of transparency, institutional standards for asset storage and an appropriate regulatory structure.
The product is already available through a number of European brokers, including Avanza and Montrose, making it available to both private and institutional investors. The launch of VCOIN50 reflects the growing interest in cryptocurrencies from traditional financial markets and the continued push to integrate digital assets into the regulated investment space.
