According to a survey conducted among citizens and entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, inflation expectations for 2025 have increased significantly. In recent months, prices for a number of goods and services have been rising, which affects consumer sentiment and economic behavior. Forecasts of rising prices for fuel, utilities and currency against the background of the general economic situation are becoming the subject of active discussions in society.
The average level of inflation expectations among the population rose to 14.4% in January 2025, which is 0.7 percentage points higher than in November last year. Experts believe that the main factors influencing the growth of inflation are higher prices for energy resources, instability in international markets and external economic challenges. At the same time, the level of inflation expectations among entrepreneurs also increased, reaching 13.9%.
In the face of uncertainty, the Government of Uzbekistan is taking measures to stabilize the situation. Special attention is paid to controlling prices for socially important goods and services, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, and stimulating the growth of the national currency through strengthening the financial system.
Economists emphasize that for the sustainable development of the Uzbek economy in the face of high inflation expectations, it is important to actively diversify the economy, support innovative and high-tech industries, as well as attract investment in the energy and agricultural sectors.
