On May 27, 2025, the official opening of the representative office of the UN structure for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women — UN Women-took place in the capital of Uzbekistan. The solemn ceremony was held in Tashkent with the participation of representatives of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, international organizations, diplomatic missions and civil society.
The opening of the UN Women office in Uzbekistan was an important step in the implementation of the country's national and international commitments in the field of gender equality.
