Amazon continues to improve its logistics processes and has announced plans to introduce fully autonomous warehouses. The company said it plans to automate 95% of operations at its largest logistics centers in the next two years. This will be possible thanks to the introduction of robotics, artificial intelligence and advanced inventory management systems.
New autonomous warehouses will reduce order processing time by up to 30%, which will make delivery even faster. At the same time, Amazon emphasizes that it plans to minimize job cuts by retraining employees to manage high-tech equipment.
The initiative provoked mixed reactions. On the one hand, analysts note lower costs and improved customer service, while on the other hand, there are concerns about job cuts in the future.
"Amazon is once again raising standards in logistics. Full automation of warehouses means not only savings, but also the ability to offer new services to customers, such as delivery on the day of the order," says logistics expert Jack Wilson.
