In the first quarter of 2025, the volume of motor gasoline production in Uzbekistan amounted to 304.3 thousand tons, which is 15 percent less compared to the same period last year. The main reason for the decline was planned technical work and modernization at a number of oil refineries in the country.
According to the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, despite the decline in gasoline production, the total industrial production in the country in January–March 2025 reached 211.3 trillion soums. This indicates continued activity in other sectors of the economy, including the construction, energy and textile industries.
Experts note that the temporary decline in gasoline production volumes did not significantly affect the internal fuel supply, due to the created reserves and flexible logistics management. At the same time, the implementation of programs to modernize and improve the efficiency of oil refining capacities continues, which, according to forecasts, should stabilize the situation in the second half of this year.
The authorities emphasize that improving production indicators in the petrochemical industry remains one of the priorities of state policy in the energy sector.
