The governments of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan have agreed to sign an agreement on the joint implementation of a large-scale railway project aimed at developing transport links between Central and South Asia. The document provides for the construction of a new railway line, which will significantly reduce the time and cost of cargo transportation between the regions.
According to the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the project is of strategic importance for expanding regional trade, stimulating economic growth and strengthening ties between the countries. The implementation of the railway corridor will create additional opportunities for bringing products to international markets, as well as increase the transit potential of Uzbekistan.
In addition, the parties expressed their readiness for close cooperation in technical design, financing and construction of infrastructure. It is expected that the successful implementation of the project will be an important step towards strengthening economic integration and ensuring sustainable development of the entire region.
