Tashkent hosted a working meeting between representatives of the Association of Asian and European Manufacturers (EOPAIA), ministries of Uzbekistan and business circles, where they discussed the prospects for placing contract production of products of well-known world brands on the territory of the republic. Special attention was paid to the areas of light industry, cosmetics and household appliances.
During the meeting, foreign partners expressed interest in Uzbekistan's production facilities, as well as its favorable geographical location. The country is considered as a promising platform for organizing export-oriented production with the possibility of entering the markets of the CIS countries, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Uzbekistan, in turn, presented to the participants of the meeting a strategy for the development of the industrial sector and state support measures aimed at stimulating external investment. Among the discussed mechanisms are the provision of tax and customs benefits, simplified procedures for registering production facilities, and initiatives in the development of local branding and packaging.
The parties also discussed issues of logistics, human resources, as well as the possible introduction of sustainable production standards and environmental certification. As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed their intention to continue the dialogue and start developing specific investment agreements.
It is expected that the implementation of such projects will contribute to deepening industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and international manufacturers, expanding the range of products labeled “Made in Uzbekistan”, as well as creating new jobs and increasing the country's export potential.
