Uzbekistan plans to attract Hungarian companies to provide technical assistance in the implementation of the project for the construction of a low-capacity nuclear power plant. This was reported by the press service of the Agency for the Development of Nuclear Energy "Uzatom".
The relevant agreement was reached during the working visit of the Uzbek delegation to Budapest. During the talks with Hungarian Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Affairs Attila Steiner, as well as with representatives of leading nuclear industry companies, key aspects of possible cooperation were discussed.
The parties focused on technical assistance in the design and construction of a nuclear power plant, including possible solutions in the field of water supply and cooling. The Uzbek side also expressed interest in studying the Hungarian experience of operating nuclear facilities, applying modern technologies and approaches to servicing industrial dry cooling systems.
It is expected that cooperation with Hungary will allow Uzbekistan to use international best practices in creating its own nuclear energy infrastructure.
