On April 15, during a working trip to the Andijan region, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev launched an initiative to create a cultural and historical complex called "Babur city". This idea is aimed at developing the tourism potential of the region, as well as preserving and popularizing the rich historical heritage of eastern Uzbekistan.
The Head of State stressed that Andijan, the birthplace of the great poet, commander and founder of the Baburid dynasty Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, deserves special attention in terms of developing culture, science and tourism. According to him, the creation of the thematic complex will not only open up new opportunities for domestic and international tourism, but will also become an important contribution to strengthening the national identity and patriotic education of young people.
The President noted that in recent years, Andijan region has demonstrated successful results in various areas, including industry, the agricultural sector, entrepreneurship and infrastructure modernization. The development of cultural initiatives should be a logical continuation of these reforms and complement the integrated development of the region.
The "cities of Babur" project involves the construction of architectural objects, museum spaces, park areas and tourist infrastructure that reflect the spirit of the great ancestor era. The initiative has already received positive responses from experts in the field of architecture, history and tourism.
It is expected that the implementation of the project will significantly increase the attractiveness of Andijan in the international arena and become a symbol of respect for the historical roots of the Uzbek people.
