The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has provided a $6 million loan to the Uzbek-Danish company UzCarlsberg, a subsidiary of the international brewing group Carlsberg Group. This was reported by the press service of the EBRD.
The allocated funds will be used to develop the production infrastructure, in particular, to purchase raw materials, ingredients and packaging materials, as well as to optimize the management of seasonal stocks. The project aims to improve logistics processes and increase the sustainability of supply chains, which is especially important in the context of global fluctuations in food and raw materials markets.
The financing is supported by the Japan Foundation for Cooperation with the EBRD. The program is aimed at promoting the modernization of food industry enterprises, introducing advanced management practices and improving the efficiency of production activities.
According to representatives of the EBRD, the project with UzCarlsberg also contributes to ensuring food security in Uzbekistan, supporting the stability of supplies and the development of the private sector. The bank's financing is part of a broader strategy to support sustainable growth and attract investment in agriculture and related industries.
