On April 13, 2025, within the framework of a bilateral meeting between representatives of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, a memorandum on cooperation in the development of logistics infrastructure was signed. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The document sets out the parties ' intentions to actively cooperate in the construction and modernization of transport routes, as well as to create favorable conditions for the development of the transit potential of the region.
According to the agreements reached, it is planned to implement projects for the construction of new international transport corridors connecting the key economic centers of the two countries. Special attention will be paid to updating existing railway and road highways, expanding the capacity of border crossings and developing multimodal transport.
In addition, the memorandum provides for the creation of joint logistics centers in strategic areas, which will optimize the processes of storage, sorting and transshipment of goods. An important element of future cooperation will be the introduction of digital platforms for cargo tracking in real time, which will ensure transparency of logistics operations and increase the level of trust on the part of participants in foreign economic activity.
Representatives of both sides stressed that the development of transport and logistics infrastructure is of key importance for strengthening bilateral trade and economic ties, increasing the competitiveness of national economies and expanding export opportunities. In addition, the implementation of joint projects will help to deepen integration in the Central Asian region and create a sustainable transport system that can effectively serve the growing flows of goods and services.
