On April 14, 2025, Uzbekistan officially launched a new state program aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses in the field of information technology. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Innovative Development. The initiative is implemented within the framework of the state policy on accelerated technological development and digital transformation of the economy.
The program includes a set of measures aimed at promoting the development of domestic IT companies and technology startups. Key support mechanisms include targeted grants, tax and customs benefits, as well as consulting and organizational assistance. In addition, it is planned to launch acceleration programs, educational courses and create conditions for Uzbek IT products to enter international markets.
One of the priority tasks of the program is to create a favorable innovation environment that promotes the formation of high-tech entrepreneurship and attract young people to the field of digital technologies. It is expected that the implementation of this initiative will help create new jobs, develop the country's export potential and strengthen Uzbekistan's position in the regional information solutions market.
According to the Ministry's statement, it is planned to support more than 500 projects over the next three years. Special attention will be paid to projects aimed at developing software, solutions in the field of cybersecurity, business process automation and digitalization of the public sector. The authorities are confident that the program will be an important step towards the formation of a dynamically developing and competitive IT industry in Uzbekistan.
