The Russian marketplace Wildberries has transferred an additional 51.2 billion soums ($4 million) to the budget of Uzbekistan following a tax audit.
According to the press service of the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan, the audit revealed inconsistencies in the activities of Wildberries (LLC RVB, registered in Russia) with certain requirements of tax legislation.
The audit was conducted in relation to the company WB INT EXPORT, through which the marketplace operates in Uzbekistan. According to its results, additional taxes were paid to the budget in 2022-2024, including 42.8 billion soums in the form of VAT.
The Tax Committee stressed that a single and objective approach is applied to all taxpayers, ensuring equal conditions for fulfilling tax obligations.
"The implementation of activities in full compliance with the requirements of the legislation of Uzbekistan contributes to transparent relations with tax authorities, excluding grounds for filing claims," the official report says.
Wildberries launched its operations in Uzbekistan in February 2022. The first pick-up point was opened in Tashkent, and in May 2023, a sorting and logistics center was opened in the Tashkent region.
