USA: EXIM Bank and Uzbekistan-Investment and infrastructure

On the sidelines of the working visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the United States, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov met with President and Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States John Yovanovitch. The subject of discussion is the expansion of the project portfolio in finance, technology, infrastructure modernization and aviation, as well as mechanisms for accelerating transactions with the participation of an export credit agency. Formats of support for critical mineral resources were considered, including the creation of value chains and localization of processing, which enhances energy security and diversifies the export base of raw materials. The focus is on EXIM Bank's tools to reduce the cost of capital for capital-intensive projects: credit lines, export risk insurance, guarantees for the supply of high-tech equipment, syndication with commercial banks, and the use of long-term money for predictable capacity commissioning schedules.

For the infrastructure block, priority is given to gas transmission and energy facilities, where synchronization of financial and engineering solutions is critical for meeting deadlines and tariff sustainability. In the aviation sector, the key is to upgrade the fleet and develop the service base, which increases the operational readiness and competitiveness of routes. The technological component of the negotiations includes the digitalization of industries and the introduction of solutions based on artificial intelligence to increase productivity and transparency of processes-from capital investment planning to asset lifecycle control. The parties confirmed their readiness to deepen long-term partnership, expand mutual trade and launch projects that meet the principles of sustainable development and localization requirements.

The context for the agreements is the strategy "Uzbekistan-2030", which is focused on GDP growth up to $ 200 billion, increasing export revenues with high added value and strengthening institutional attractiveness for international capital. Cooperation with the American financial ecosystem and technology manufacturers adds predictability to investment decisions, accelerates the transfer of competencies and reduces project risks. Together, this reinforces Uzbekistan's positioning as a reliable partner with clear access rules, infrastructure training, and a human resource base for scaling industrial and technological projects.
