Kaspersky Lab is preparing to launch a new PetKa service designed to search for lost pets. The solution combines an Android mobile app and a Kaspersky Tag Bluetooth tag, which is attached to the pet's collar.
PetKa will allow owners to track the movement of animals on an interactive map and see their last recorded location. In the profile, you can specify the pet's name, photos, special signs, breed, veterinary passport data, and owner's contacts. The Kaspersky Tag is protected according to the IPX5 standard, which ensures its resistance to rain and snow. Owners will be able to use the nearby search function or send an audio signal to the device to facilitate the search.
At the first stage, PetKa will be available only for Android devices via RuStore. The iOS version will be released later. The tracker is planned to be sold through an official distributor and on marketplaces. The service also integrates the "Team of Heroes" collective search function: when SOS mode is activated, the pet's profile becomes public, and other users of the platform receive a notification about its loss. This allows you to quickly find animals outside the range of the Bluetooth signal.
The introduction of such technologies strengthens the role of digital services in the field of pet care, combining elements of cybersecurity, geolocation and user communities. For pet owners, this solution creates new opportunities to protect and quickly search for their pets in emergency situations.
