Uzbekistan is rapidly strengthening its position on the world map of the textile industry. If earlier the country was perceived primarily as a supplier of high-quality cotton, today it is turning into a full-fledged production center working with the largest international brands. This transition is the result of a focused policy to modernize the industry, attract investment, and integrate it into global supply chains.
To date, 66 enterprises in Uzbekistan directly cooperate with the world's leading companies. Among them are LC Waikiki, Prof Max, Terranova, Defacto and German Murk GmbH & Co KG Mens Fashion. Over the past three years, we have established cooperation with more than 80 foreign brands, including The North Face, Engelbert Strauss, Carrera Jeans, Collins, Disney, KIABI and Inditex, which owns the Zara and Bershka brands.
Production facilities cover regions all over the country: from Tashkent and Namangan region to Ferghana and Samarkand. Leading enterprises are capable of producing over 850 thousand tons of products per year. Thus, Uztex Group in Khorezm produces 160 thousand tons of products for LC Waikiki and Terranova, Navbahor Textile in Navoi region produces 135 thousand tons of fabrics for the French brand GEMO, and Global Textile in Ferghana region provides the Kiabi network with 62 thousand tons of knitwear.
The economic effect is obvious: in 2024, enterprises produced products worth 12.9 trillion soums, of which exports amounted to $435.4 million, or 42% of the total volume. The export orientation demonstrates a high level of competitiveness of Uzbek textile companies. At the same time, the industry has created over 37.5 thousand jobs, which plays an important role in the development of regions and strengthening social stability.
In 2025, a new round of development is planned: the launch of 20 additional production lines will increase the capacity by 33 million units of finished products, 600 thousand square meters. m of finishing fabrics and 25 thousand tons of knitwear. These measures will boost exports by $73 million, attract $84 million in foreign investment, and create more than 4,200 jobs.
The gradual transition from the export of raw materials to the production of branded finished products is already bringing tangible results. The textile industry of Uzbekistan is becoming one of the pillars of the national economy and is confidently gaining a foothold among the world's leading centers of fashion clothing production.
