virusnye-ataki-uzbekistan-telegram-bank
Against the background of the aggravation of global threats in the field of information security, another round of cybercriminal activity has been recorded in Uzbekistan. According to data regularly received by the editorial office from specialists of the Jedy Media marketing agency, cases of sending malicious files disguised as harmless attachments in popular instant messengers and email services have become more frequent in recent days.
Hackers actively use extensions .exe, .vbs,. bat,. cmd, and .sh — opening such files leads to instant activation of malicious code. The consequences include loss of access to Telegram accounts, leakage of confidential correspondence, blocking of personal devices, and in some cases, direct theft of funds from linked bank cards.
The attack mechanism is based on social engineering — users receive infected files from supposedly familiar contacts or as part of group chats. Spoofing the sender's name, the absence of external signs of danger, and trust in the source all make the threat particularly large-scale.
Analysts emphasize the need for immediate response and prevention. First of all, it is recommended to completely refrain from opening attachments with the above extensions, especially if their origin causes the slightest doubt. It is also critically important to inform older relatives and less knowledgeable users — they are the ones who are most often victims of such attacks.
Spreading such warnings in messengers, social networks, and workgroups can significantly reduce risks and prevent mass infections. Improving digital hygiene and critical thinking about incoming files are becoming basic skills in today's digital environment.
Given the growing number of remote services and the introduction of digital platforms into the daily lives of citizens, Uzbekistan will have to develop cyber defense tools even more actively. Regular information support and coverage of such incidents remain key measures in strengthening the digital immunity of society.
