On August 25-26, 2025, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan for the first time. The invitation was sent personally by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The main events of the visit are planned in Samarkand, which is becoming a key diplomatic platform in the region.
The agenda of the meeting covers a wide range of issues, including the development of political dialogue, strengthening trade and economic ties and launching new investment formats. Special attention is planned to be paid to cooperation in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the agro-industrial complex, the textile industry and the field of minerals. These sectors are considered as priorities for deepening cooperation between the two countries.
A separate block of negotiations will be devoted to issues of humanitarian and cultural exchange, as well as opportunities for mutual integration of educational and tourism programs. The discussion will also cover the international and regional agenda, including resilience to global challenges and developing mutual understanding within international organizations.
The visit of King Abdullah II may mark a turning point in bilateral relations, opening the door for deeper economic and political integration of Uzbekistan and Jordan. At the end of the negotiations, it is planned to sign a package of interstate documents setting out agreements on key areas of cooperation.
Given Tashkent's foreign policy priorities for expanding partnership with the Middle East, as well as efforts to diversify trade ties, the upcoming visit can contribute to the development of a sustainable platform for dialogue between Central Asia and the Arab world.
