Uzbekistan: Samarkand to host International Forum on Artificial Intelligence development

In the context of rapid digital transformation and widespread adoption of artificial intelligence technologies in key sectors of the global economy, Uzbekistan is taking strategic steps to strengthen its position in this area. Artificial intelligence is already becoming not only a tool for modernizing production and improving efficiency, but also a factor that determines the long-term competitiveness of countries.

At the state level, the development of AI is enshrined in a number of regulatory documents, including Presidential Decree No. PP-358 of October 14, 2024, which approved the "Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies until 2030", and Cabinet Resolution No. 425 of July 10, 2025, which defines measures for the implementation of priority projects in 2025-2026. These initiatives are aimed at expanding the scientific and technological potential, stimulating innovation and integrating into the global digital space.

In continuation of this policy, an International Forum on the development of artificial intelligence with the participation of experts and specialists from the CIS member states will be held on August 7-8, 2025 in Samarkand, at the Hilton Samarkand Regency Hotel. The event will bring together more than 50 leading representatives of IT companies, industry experts, heads of scientific and industrial structures from Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The forum program includes panel discussions on the latest trends and challenges in the field of artificial intelligence, business meetings and exchange of best practices, as well as presentations of innovative solutions for various industries. In addition to the business program, participants will be offered cultural events and excursions that allow them to get acquainted with the historical and architectural heritage of Samarkand.

The forum in Samarkand highlights the growing role of Uzbekistan as a regional platform for coordinating AI and digital technology policies among the CIS countries. It is expected that agreements on joint projects, exchange of experience and harmonization of standards will be signed as a result of the event, as well as new areas of cooperation in the scientific and technical sphere will be formed.
