Russia-Uzbekistan: business of Novgorod region activates export cooperation with Central Asia

In the context of strengthening foreign economic relations between the countries of Central Asia and the subjects of the Russian Federation, the business structures of the Novgorod region are forming stable export channels with Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. At the initiative of the regional export support center, it is planned to organize a business visit to the region by representatives of business circles from the two republics.

The cooperation covers several areas at once, including the supply of building materials, development and production of modular buildings, as well as technological products. The visit is expected to become a platform for direct negotiations and conclusion of agreements between participants in foreign trade activities.

According to information announced by the Minister of Investment Policy of the Novgorod Region Denis Nosachev, in 2024, the volume of exports of goods of the region to Uzbekistan increased 2.3 times. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, deliveries reached $ 4 million, which confirms the significant interest of the Uzbek market in products from the Russian Federation.

Indicators of export activity to Kyrgyzstan also show positive dynamics. From January to March 2025, the volume of deliveries amounted to about $ 1.4 million, and by the end of 2024 - $ 5.9 million. The bulk of exports are construction and industrial and technical goods, which are in steady demand amid the growth of investment projects in Kyrgyzstan.

The intensification of cooperation with Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan demonstrates the growing mutual interest of the regions in developing a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership that contributes to the diversification of foreign trade and strengthening economic sustainability in the context of global market transformation.
