Redmi is planning an early launch of the new Turbo 5 smartphone, which will be the world's first device based on the single-chip Dimensity 8500 system. According to reports, the model may appear on the Chinese market as early as December of this year, despite the fact that the previous version — Redmi Turbo 4 — was introduced in January 2025.
Acceleration of the production and marketing cycle is associated with exclusive access to the new MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset. This solution is aimed at strategic consolidation of the brand in the segment of high-power devices of the middle class with advanced characteristics. Other manufacturers, including Honor, Realme, and iQOO, are expected to start using the chip only in the first quarter of 2026, giving Redmi a temporary technological advantage.
Technically, the model will be equipped with a flat 6.67-inch LTPS OLED display with a resolution of 1.5 K. In addition, the design provides a metal middle frame, which indicates the desire to increase the premium of the device. The engineers also planned to install a battery with a capacity of about 7,000 mAh, which, with optimized operation of the new single-chip system, can ensure long-term autonomous use.
It is expected that the Dimensity 8500 chip, possibly in the Ultra modification, will provide a significant increase in computing power and energy efficiency. This is especially important in the context of the growing demand for smartphones that can simultaneously perform multimedia processing, gaming, and everyday use tasks with minimal latency and high stability.
Positioned as the flagship in its class, the Redmi Turbo 5 will be an important milestone in the brand's strategy to strengthen its position in the competitive segment. With a fast launch and exclusive access to new chipsets, the model has every chance of setting benchmarks for the mobile industry in early 2026.
