From July 23 to 29, 2025, a delegation of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan conducted a working visit to the United States of America in order to strengthen trade and economic cooperation, expand export channels and promote national brands to the American market.
The key element of the visit was the participation of 25 domestic textile companies under the single national brand "Made in Uzbekistan" in international specialized exhibitions in New York. Expositions of Uzbek products were presented at Texworld NYC, Apparel Sourcing USA and Home Textiles Sourcing Expo. These events brought together leading industry players and opened up new prospects for expanding Uzbekistan's presence in the global supply chain of textiles and clothing.
As part of the business program, a number of meetings were held with representatives of international corporations and industry associations, during which they discussed mechanisms for placing orders, organizing deliveries within the framework of system sourcing, as well as access of Uzbek products to the shelves of American retail chains. Among the topics covered are the possibility of accessing platforms such as Amazon and Walmart, as well as interaction with Whole Foods Market, Bloomingdale's and The Home Depot chains.
One of the most important stages of the visit was a meeting with the US Department of Commerce. The parties discussed ways to reduce trade barriers, proposals to boost mutual investment, and tools to increase trade turnover. Special attention is paid to the creation of a mechanism that will simplify the conditions for Uzbek goods entering the US market in the long term.
Additional negotiations were held with the participation of the Trade Law Development Program (CLDP), operating under the US Department of Commerce. An agreement was reached to hold joint training events for Uzbek enterprises. The topics of upcoming webinars and seminars cover certification standards, packaging and logistics features, as well as product requirements in the US market.
Consultations with the US Department of Agriculture and the US Cotton Association were significant, during which the supply of American cotton to Uzbekistan through the GSM-102 program was discussed. Representatives of the Uzbek side expressed interest in expanding the credit limit, as well as in launching the "Made from U.S. Cotton" initiative to promote products made from American raw materials in third — country markets.
This visit reflects Uzbekistan's strategic focus on developing its export policy and increasing the competitiveness of domestic products. The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade continues to implement comprehensive measures aimed at diversifying foreign economic relations and increasing the role of Uzbekistan in global value chains.
