Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan expand diplomatic cooperation for 2025-2026

Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic signed a program of inter-ministry cooperation for 2025-2026, aimed at deepening strategic ties in the political, economic and regional spheres. The signing took place during a meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries.

During the talks, Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and his Kyrgyz counterpart Jeenbek Kulubayev discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation. Special attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation, strengthening the interconnectedness of border areas, developing infrastructure projects, as well as coordinating efforts in the field of regional integration and sustainable development.

The sides expressed mutual interest in further institutionalization of relations, emphasizing the importance of coordinated approaches in solving regional problems. Both countries demonstrate high dynamics of interaction, supported by regular political dialogue and the desire for constructive partnership.

In addition, the meeting approved a joint action plan for the preparation of the State Visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kyrgyz Republic. This visit will be an important stage in the development of bilateral diplomacy, helping to consolidate the agreements reached and launch new initiatives.

Strengthening inter-ministerial cooperation confirms the strategic orientation of Uzbekistan's foreign policy towards creating sustainable and pragmatic formats of cooperation with neighboring Central Asian states.
