On July 29, 2025, a regular meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held. The discussion was attended by members of the Council, representatives of the Ministry, as well as invited experts and heads of interested organizations. The event was chaired by Alisher Ishankhodzhayev, who heads the Public Council.
One of the key issues on the agenda was the presentation of the report on the Council's activities for 2024. The document was sent to the National Movement "Yuksalish" and the Anti-Corruption Agency. In accordance with their recommendations, the Board was expanded. New members are invited to participate in its work: Eldar Tulyakov, Executive Director of the Development Strategy Center, Ulugbek Radjabov, International Relations Adviser to the Chairman of the Yuksalish OND, and Abdulaziz Abutalipov, General Director of the National Media Association of Uzbekistan.
First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Ozodbek Pekos delivered the main analytical report on current results and key areas. He presented data on the ministry's economic indicators for the first half of 2025, highlighting the development of digital government, the introduction of AI solutions, the formation of an ecosystem of IT startups, the modernization of telecommunications infrastructure, as well as the digitalization of postal services and education. Special attention was paid to projects in the digital industry and their contribution to the national economy.
In the second part of the meeting, the request of the non-governmental non-profit organization "Madad" dated June 23, 2025, concerning improving the level of legal literacy of the population in digital technologies was considered. Oybek Jumabayev, Head of the Legal Support Department of the Ministry, commented on the initiative. He stressed the relevance of the project and provided information on the current educational and awareness-raising programs of the department aimed at creating a digital culture and raising legal awareness of citizens.
At the end of the meeting, the participants held an open question-and-answer session, during which they discussed public monitoring mechanisms, the effectiveness of current digital initiatives, and proposals for developing the country's digital agenda. The Council members expressed satisfaction with the high level of openness and content of the discussion, as well as outlined further steps to expand public participation in the digital transformation of Uzbekistan.
