The Polish engineering company Volonaut has announced the launch of a production model of an air bike — an individual aircraft that combines the functions of a motorcycle and light air transport. The technical and visual appearance of the device is inspired by the aesthetics of science fiction, while the platform is positioned as a real solution for urban air mobility.
Volonaut plans to launch pre-order from August 1, 2025. The starting price of one air bike will be 880 thousand US dollars. The first production cycle will be limited and focused on private clients, technology investment funds, and corporate entities.
The developers emphasize that the model is designed for short autonomous flights within urban and suburban infrastructure. The proposed operational scenarios include sports and tourist routes, patrolling, small cargo delivery, and manned mobility in confined spaces.
The air bike can reach speeds of up to 102 km / h, which meets FAA Ultralight standards and allows you to operate the device in the United States without obtaining a license. The curb weight of the device is only 30 kg. The power plant is based on backup jet turbines that support compatibility with several types of fuel-diesel, biodiesel, Jet-A1 and kerosene.
The maximum weight of the pilot is limited to 95 kg, which corresponds to the standards of ultralight aviation. The duration of one flight is no more than 10 minutes, while the time for full refueling is less than one minute.
Control is implemented using an on-board computer with a backup system and an active stabilization function that ensures stability and accuracy of maneuvers even in windy weather.
Volonaut focuses on technological minimalism, mobility and security. The model does not require a runway, is suitable for vertical launch and can be integrated into digital transport platforms of the future.
The new generation of airbikes reflects the growing global interest in personal aviation and air mobility solutions. Successful commercialization of the project can strengthen Poland's position in international competition for leadership in urban air mobility and high-tech engineering.
