Uzbekistan: IT Park expands regional presence in Ferghana

Uzbekistan is stepping up efforts to develop digital infrastructure in the regions. The focus is on the Ferghana region, where IT Park implements large-scale projects aimed at creating a modern educational and entrepreneurial environment in the field of high technologies.

During the working trip of IT Park representatives to Ferghana, an inspection of key facilities was carried out, the construction of which will be an important stage in the digital transformation of the region. The main attention is paid to the new technopark building being built at the intersection of Sayilgoh and Al-Ferghani streets in eco-town. This 13-storey complex with an area of 22,610 square meters will become the largest regional division of the technopark in the country.

The project provides for the creation of 50 classrooms with a total capacity of 950 students, as well as additional spaces designed for another 500 people. The building will house a dormitory for 188 people, offices for teachers and administrators, a library that occupies two floors, four meeting rooms and a congress hall for 450 people. It is expected that this facility will become the core of the Ferghana region's innovation and education ecosystem.

During the visit, the building of the former telephone exchange No. 225 was also examined, on the basis of which IT is planned to create another branch of IT Park. The premises will be converted into office spaces and co-working spaces that meet the modern requirements of the technology business. It is expected that this project will provide flexible working conditions for IT companies, specialists and startups, contributing to the growth of business activity in the region.

Special attention is paid to working with young people. The delegation visited an IT town in Tashlak district, where children and teenagers learn programming, robotics, 3D printing and foreign languages. These centers play a key role in shaping a new generation of professionals and provide access to digital education even in remote areas.

To date, 107 resident companies are registered in the Ferghana branch of IT Park, of which 24 export services abroad. The export geography covers more than 10 countries, including the USA, China, Russia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Japan and India. The total number of jobs created exceeded 1,300. A number of companies use the state program Zero Risk, aimed at supporting entrepreneurs launching IT businesses in the regions.

Ferghana is steadily strengthening its position as one of the key regional centers of the digital economy of Uzbekistan. Investment in infrastructure, support for start-ups, development of educational programs and the growing number of exporters of IT services form a solid foundation for further technological progress.
