Belarus: expanding participation in international space projects

Belarus is stepping up its participation in international space initiatives, strengthening cooperation with Russia in the framework of new orbital, lunar and satellite programs. According to official statements, the country intends to integrate into the project for the construction of the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS), which is scheduled to start in 2027. This project will form the basis of a new phase in the development of the domestic space industry and will ensure a more sustainable presence of partner countries in near space.

At the same time, Belarus announced its intention to join the Russian lunar program. In particular, we are talking about participating in missions related to the study and development of the lunar surface, including the creation of scientific modules and components for automatic stations. Simultaneously with the Russian vector, the Belarusian side is considering options for cooperation with China, demonstrating its desire for broader integration into the global space agenda.

Special attention is paid to the implementation of the "Complex SG" program within the Union State. Within its framework, three remote sensing satellites are being developed, the launch of which is scheduled for 2027. This initiative opens up opportunities for improving the accuracy of monitoring of natural resources, agriculture, urbanization and climate change in the EAEU space.

Belarusian specialists expect to deepen cooperation on key projects, including the creation of orbiters and long-term space missions.

Belarus also continues space research within the framework of the International Space Station (ISS). Experiments with the participation of a Belarusian cosmonaut aimed at studying the effect of microgravity on biological processes and technological materials are continuing in orbit. Cooperation with Roscosmos through the exchange of scientific data and participation in orbital missions remains one of the priorities.

Belarus ' active involvement in international space projects demonstrates the country's desire to position itself as a reliable partner in the field of aerospace research. Participation in ROSS, the lunar program and the launch of the satellite segment will allow the republic not only to increase its competencies, but also to contribute to the formation of a new architecture of multilateral space cooperation.
