Sweden: Volvo has introduced an off-road version of the Volvo EX30 electric car with advanced features

The automotive market for electric vehicles continues to show rapid development. The Swedish company Volvo has introduced a new version of the compact electric crossover-the Volvo EX30 Cross Country. The new product is aimed at consumers who prefer an active lifestyle, trips to nature and off-road travel, while not giving up on modern comfort and eco-friendly technologies.

The Volvo EX30 Cross Country is positioned as a reinforced modification of the base EX30, which has received an updated chassis, increased ground clearance, an original off-road body kit and technological improvements. The new ground clearance of 196 mm provides the car with increased cross-country ability, and the adapted suspension with reinforced springs makes trips more stable on uneven terrain.

The key technical solution was the use of a two-engine electric power plant with a total capacity of 428 horsepower. The electric car is equipped with a 66 kWh battery that provides a power reserve of up to 540 km according to the Chinese CLTC standard, which makes it possible to consider the model as a universal solution for both urban and suburban use.

The car retains the brand's Scandinavian design identity. The design highlights a massive black radiator grille with a unique relief, which is engraved with the coordinates of the Swedish mountain range Kebnekaise-a symbol of conquering heights. The grating is made of a material resistant to mechanical damage, resistant to pollution and water. There are also 19-inch wheels with an expressive five-spoke design and a black matte trunk lid with Cross Country lettering.

The dimensions of the car are 4233 mm in length, 1850 mm in width and 1573 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2650 mm. These parameters provide a combination of maneuverability in urban environments with comfort on long trips. In official images, the novelty is presented with a tent on the roof, indicating the positioning of the model as a car for traveling. The company announced plans to expand the range of accessories for tourist trips.

The interior of the EX30 Cross Country fully meets the brand's standards. The centerpiece of the cabin is a vertical 12.3-inch touchscreen display. In the interior design, physical buttons are minimized — functions are controlled via the screen and touch elements on the steering wheel. In the premium configuration, a Harman Kardon audio system is installed.

The price of the Volvo EX30 Cross Country at the start is 263,800 yuan, but as part of the promotion, the car is available at a price of 233,800 yuan (about $ 32,500). The discount is valid until September 30, 2025.
