Oppo unveils world's first air-cooled smartphone with IPX9 protection

Chinese technology company Oppo is preparing for the official presentation of the new generation of gaming smartphones K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro. The announcement of the models will take place on July 21 in the domestic market, but now the key characteristics of the devices have been published, which aroused interest among industry analysts and mobile technology enthusiasts.

The K13 Turbo Pro model became the first smartphone in the history with an integrated air cooling system, having also received the highest level of moisture protection-IPX9. According to official data from the manufacturer, the device is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, which in the AnTuTu synthetic test showed a record result of 2.45 million points. In testing conditions with an ambient temperature of 30°C, the smartphone consistently provided a frequency of 53.5 frames per second in a resource-intensive open-world gaming environment, which exceeds the performance of models based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

The company paid special attention to a new cooling system called Super Cooling Kit. This is a removable module that combines liquid and air cooling technologies, mounted on the back panel of the device using a magnetic mount. The kit is equipped with RGB lighting and a visible air channel that provides active cooling in real time. According to the stress tests, the smartphone maintained stable performance even at an external temperature of 58°C, demonstrating high efficiency of the cooling system.

The K13 Turbo series features a 6.8-inch LTPS-matrix OLED display with a 1.5 K resolution. The refresh rate is 144 Hz, and the built-in fingerprint scanner is supported. The cameras are dual primary (50 and 2 megapixels) and 16-megapixel front-facing cameras. Smartphones are equipped with a 7000 mAh battery with support for fast charging with a power of 80 watts.

Oppo also took care of the high level of protection of the case. The models have a plastic housing and are certified to IP66, IP68 and IP69 standards, which confirms their resistance to dust, moisture and water pressure. The weight of the device is about 208 grams.

The model range includes three color solutions for the Turbo version-black, purple and white, and for the Pro version there is an exclusive silver version. The amount of RAM reaches 16 GB, and the built-in storage — 512 GB.

The standard version of the K13 Turbo features a MediaTek Dimensity 8450 processor, aimed at users who prefer balanced performance at a more affordable price.
