China brings AI developments to the global market: startups transform the global digital industry

Chinese technology companies, traditionally focused on the domestic market, are increasingly realizing their export potential in the field of artificial intelligence. Developers from China are becoming prominent participants in the global AI race, offering solutions that can compete with American and European counterparts in both quality and functionality.

One of the most recent examples is Lovart, a startup launched in the United States by Chinese entrepreneur Melvin Chen. The project specializes in generating visual content using AI-logos, stickers, and marketing materials. In test mode, the app has already attracted 800,000 users in 70 countries. The priority goal at the first stage is the North American market, where the startup expects to overcome the bar of one million users within the first week after launch.

Lovart uses advanced language models such as Claude 4 and OpenAI developments that are not officially available in China. This was one of the reasons why the app has not yet entered the domestic market. However, part of the production process remains in China, demonstrating a distributed development model with a focus on localization for global markets. Monetization is based on a flexible subscription model with an upper threshold of $ 90 per month.

Shifting the focus from models to applied solutions

Despite restrictions from the United States on the supply of chips and technologies, China is increasing its presence in the segment of applied AI products. Companies rely on mass consumption: video generators, creative editors, and AI agents. In the past year and a half, a number of Chinese solutions — in particular, Kling and Vidu video generators, as well as Manus assistants-have gained a wide user base outside the country.

Analysts note that the key success factors are a high concentration of engineering personnel, flexible development methodology, and government support for AI commercialization. Chinese teams are actively taking advantage of open source, giving the world access to powerful but affordable tools. This reduces the cost of training models and speeds up the implementation cycle.

Models of Chinese origin are consistently among the most popular on international open-source platforms. At the time of publication, the Kimi K2 model for code generation occupies a leading position in the rating, followed by Qwen3 from a large Chinese holding company and Hunyuan from Tencent-the leader in generating images in 3D format. Such models are becoming a real alternative to Western solutions, reducing the market's dependence on licensing restrictions and political barriers.

AI as a visual language tool

The development of generative applications that can create videos, images, and creative scenarios on the fly is shaping a new paradigm for digital interaction. According to the founder of Lovart, AI is becoming a new tool for visual thinking, simplifying communication processes between businesses, customers and designers.

The startup aims to promote the product through offline events in the creative capitals of the world — New York, Tokyo and major cities in Europe. This strategy allows you to strengthen ties with the professional community and build a loyal user base.

According to the latest data, ChatGPT remains popular in the West, retaining 70 million active users in the United States and over 144 million in Europe. However, in European countries, the Chinese DeepSeek model already occupies the third place in popularity, leaving behind the decisions of the largest American companies.

The head of one of the leading companies in the field of chips noted that users around the world have already downloaded Chinese AI models and run them locally, regardless of geographical origin. It is not the intellectual superiority of the model that comes to the fore, but its applied value, sustainability, and adaptability to the challenges of business and everyday life.

Chinese AI companies are demonstrating that innovation is no longer the exclusive domain of Western development centers. They are actively involved in shaping a new technological reality - focused on availability, scalability and practical benefits.
