Uzbekistan and Russia strengthen trade and economic partnership

According to the results of January-June 2025, trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation show positive dynamics. According to the national statistical office, the bilateral trade turnover amounted to $ 6.028 billion, which is 5.2% higher than the same indicator for the first half of 2024.

The increase in the volume of mutual trade is taking place against the background of the general activation of Uzbekistan's foreign economic activity. Since the beginning of the year, the country's external trade turnover has grown by 16.1%, reaching $ 37 billion. At the same time, exports of Uzbek products increased by 29.1% and amounted to $ 16.887 billion, while import volumes increased by 7% to $ 20.133 billion.

Russia remains one of Uzbekistan's key trading partners. According to the volume of deliveries of Uzbek products to foreign markets, it ranks first with a share of 12.1% of total exports. In value terms, exports from Uzbekistan to Russia amounted to $ 2.051 billion. At the same time, imports from Russia reached $ 3.977 billion, accounting for 19.8% of the country's total imports. According to this indicator, Russia is second only to China, whose share is 28.1%.

Taking into account these indicators, Russia ranks second among Uzbekistan's foreign trade partners, providing 16.3% of the country's total trade turnover. China remains the leader with a share of 17.7%, while Kazakhstan (6%) retains the third position.

According to the results of 2024, the total volume of mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Russia amounted to $ 11.63 billion, an increase of 14.5% compared to 2023. This was the first time that the indicator exceeded the level of $ 11 billion, which underlines the stable nature of bilateral trade relations and the parties ' interest in further increasing the volume of economic cooperation.

The growing dynamics reflect the structural deepening of the partnership between Tashkent and Moscow. Russia remains an important export destination for Uzbek industrial and agricultural products, as well as a source of technological and energy cooperation. The combined trade potential of the parties remains significant, especially in the context of diversification of logistics routes, strengthening of industrial interaction and expansion of transnational production chains.
