Uzbekistan and Russia strengthen regional cooperation at the regional level

Regional cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation continues to show steady dynamics. As part of the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Novosibirsk region, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov met with Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Andrey Travnikov. The main attention was paid to strengthening interregional ties and implementing previously reached agreements.

The agenda includes the implementation of joint programs, deepening investment, trade and economic cooperation, as well as the development of humanitarian cooperation. During the talks, the parties noted their mutual interest in the practical implementation of planned initiatives aimed at enhancing relations between the two countries ' regions.

The Governor of the Novosibirsk Region stressed that the basis for productive work is the friendly and trusting nature of relations between the regions. He emphasized the positive dynamics of business and humanitarian contacts, and expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Uzbek partners in specific areas.

Special attention was paid to the interaction between Surkhandarya region and Novosibirsk region. Ambassador Botirjon Asadov described these relations as reference and demonstrating a high level of mutual understanding. He stressed that the agreements reached already yield tangible results and can serve as a model for other regions of both countries.

Recall that in 2024, an agreement on mutual cooperation was signed between the Surkhandarya and Novosibirsk regions. The document covers a wide range of areas, including trade, industrial cooperation, the agricultural sector, education and culture. In practice, this means organizing business missions, exchanging delegations, joint fairs and investment forums.

The development of interregional relations between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation is considered an important element of economic diplomacy and pragmatic foreign economic policy. Taking into account the scale of both markets and the potential for mutual growth, such formats allow us to create long-term cooperation mechanisms that meet the interests of business and citizens.

The formation of stable bilateral relations at the regional level not only contributes to the activation of trade and economic exchange, but also opens up additional opportunities for local producers, educational institutions and cultural institutions. Uzbekistan continues to increase cooperation with Russian regions, focusing on specific projects and results, rather than formal agreements.
