Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili to visit Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan will host a Georgian delegation headed by Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili on an official visit in the coming days. The visit takes place within the framework of expanding the bilateral economic dialogue and consistently strengthening partnership relations between the countries of the South Caucasus and Central Asia. Prior to her trip to Tashkent, the Minister held a number of meetings in Kazakhstan, where negotiations were held with key representatives of the executive branch.

During the Kazakh part of the visit, Kvrivishvili discussed issues of regional logistics, energy cooperation and strategic investments with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev and Energy Minister Yerlan Akenzhenov. These meetings confirmed the interest in forming a sustainable corridor of economic cooperation covering the Caucasus, the Caspian Sea and Central Asia.

The next stage will be an official visit to Uzbekistan, where high-level talks are expected with representatives of the government, relevant ministries and potential investment partners. The agenda includes the development of transport corridors, cooperation in the energy sector, participation in infrastructure projects and discussion of prospects for logistics integration between Tbilisi and Tashkent.

The composition of the delegation underlines the importance of the visit. Together with the Minister, her deputies Gennady Arveladze and Guram Guramishvili, as well as General Director of Georgian Railway JSC Lasha Abashidze will visit Uzbekistan. The presence of the head of the national railway operator indicates the parties ' interest in strengthening transit routes, including the China – Central Asia – Europe line through the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea.

Georgia sees Uzbekistan as a key partner in the region with a high potential for diversifying foreign economic relations, including product supply, investment in logistics infrastructure and coordination of multimodal routes. For Uzbekistan, the interest in the Georgian direction is due to access to the Black Sea ports, reducing logistics costs and expanding foreign trade opportunities outside of traditional markets.

It is expected that the visit will become the basis for signing new agreements and memoranda focused on long-term cooperation, as well as for expanding the format of interaction at the level of business, transport and energy. In the context of the global reorientation of logistics chains, Tashkent and Tbilisi are forming a model of cooperation based on infrastructure connectivity, political openness and economic pragmatism.
