As of July 1, 2025, Russia occupies the second position among the largest foreign investors in Uzbekistan, second only to China. 3,098 enterprises with Russian capital operate in the republic, which is 18.6% of the total number of companies with foreign participation.
According to data published by the National Statistics Committee, a total of 16,685 operating enterprises with foreign participation are registered in the country. Chinese companies account for 25.1%, Russian — 18.6%, and Turkish-12%. This confirms the continued long-term activity of Russia as a strategic economic partner of Uzbekistan.
Joint ventures are particularly important: Russia is the leader in this indicator, ahead of China and Turkey. Of the total number of registered companies with Russian participation, 905 were created jointly with Uzbek partners. In the same category, China is represented by 647 companies, and Turkey — 484.
Russian investments in Uzbekistan's economy have already exceeded $ 15 billion. At the same time, the total portfolio of existing and planned bilateral projects is estimated at $ 60 billion. The main areas of cooperation include energy, transport infrastructure, mechanical engineering, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and information technology.
The growing involvement of Russian investors indicates not only confidence in the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, but also a steady interest in the republic's market, which continues to open up to foreign partners thanks to simplified administrative procedures and increased legal protection of investors.
