mirziyoyev-putin-partnerstvo
Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev held telephone talks, confirming their commitment to developing a comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan. Special attention was paid to the practical implementation of bilateral agreements reached during previous high-level meetings.
Against the background of growing international turbulence and the formation of new centers of influence in Eurasia, the interaction between Tashkent and Moscow is gaining additional importance. The two leaders discussed the dynamics of trade and economic ties, expressing mutual interest in increasing trade turnover and implementing joint projects.
Uzbekistan maintains a stable position as one of Russia's largest trading partners in Central Asia. Against this background, the priority remains not only the quantitative growth of foreign trade, but also the diversification of its structure. The discussion included prospects for cooperation in such sectors as industry, energy, agriculture, logistics and the digital economy.
They also discussed preparations for the meeting of the Council of Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan, which is scheduled for autumn 2025. This format has become one of the key mechanisms for deepening interregional cooperation, which allows accelerating the processes of localization of production, investment and technological exchange.
Special emphasis was placed on issues of humanitarian cooperation. In the context of expanding educational, scientific and cultural ties between the two countries, the Presidents confirmed the importance of personnel exchange, support for language programs and joint initiatives in the field of medicine and social policy.
In addition to the bilateral agenda, the Presidents exchanged views on topical international issues. Uzbekistan, which pursues a balanced and independent foreign policy, remains an important factor of sustainability in Central Asia. Coordination of approaches with Russia on a number of international and regional challenges, including security, infrastructure integration and cross-border stability, remains relevant.
Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia continues to develop as a multi-level and complementary partnership, in which economic, political and humanitarian vectors are organically intertwined. Against the background of global transformations, the leadership dialogue between Tashkent and Moscow remains a key element of stability in the Eurasian space.
