On the territory of Yangi Uzbekistan in Ferghana, a large-scale construction of a branch of the IT park is underway, aimed at creating a modern infrastructure for the development of the digital economy in the region. The area of the object is 1.9 hectares, on which multi-storey buildings of a new generation are being built.
The branch of the IT Park will become the core of the region's digital ecosystem. There will be offices for residents, start-up studios, coworking spaces, as well as educational centers for programming, robotics, 3D graphics, graphic design, SMM and foreign languages. It is expected that the new platform will create additional opportunities for young professionals and strengthen the export potential of local IT companies.
Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, who visited the facility, suggested using advanced engineering solutions, paying special attention to the introduction of "green" energy and eco-friendly technologies. He stressed the importance of a high-quality innovation environment and support for young people in the formation of a digital cluster in the region.
The development of the IT sector in the Ferghana region is also facilitated by the opening of a new educational complex – "IT-town" in Tashlak district. Its creation was implemented in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated May 15, 2024 on the creation of "IT campuses" in each region of the country.
The complex consists of a two-storey building with 20 classrooms, which can simultaneously accommodate 200 students. On its territory there are modern spaces: "Startup Garage", co-working spaces, halls for freelancers, conference platforms and training centers. The teaching staff consists of more than 10 specialists who provide courses in information technology and foreign languages.
Minister Shermatov and Khokim of the Ferghana region Khairullo Bozorov noted the importance of training young personnel taking into account current market requirements and stressed the importance of a practice-oriented approach to training.
According to official data, in 2024, the volume of IT services in the region amounted to 587 billion soums — an increase of 115% compared to the previous year. Programming services reached 104 billion soums, which reflects an almost twofold increase. The number of IT park residents increased from 80 to 106, and the number of jobs increased from 797 to 1,397.
Today, 24 resident companies export IT services, 33 organizations work in the field of digital education, and 46 serve the domestic market. The total volume of services provided by them exceeded 112.4 billion soums. Within the framework of the national project "One Million Programmers", more than 28 thousand young citizens have already been trained in the field of digital technologies.
Ferghana's IT infrastructure demonstrates sustainable development, confirming the region's status as one of the future centers of digital transformation in Uzbekistan.
