Uzbekistan and France develop partnership in IT sphere
Uzbekistan and France are stepping up their partnership in the field of information and communication technologies, focusing on the development of outsourcing potential and international integration of startups. Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, Director General of the IT Park of Uzbekistan, and Aurelia Boucher, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France, discussed key areas of cooperation between the two countries in the IT sector, including attracting French technology companies and integrating them into European startup ecosystems.
One of the central issues was the dialogue on cooperation with Station F, the largest startup campus in Europe, located in Paris. The platform brings together more than a thousand technology projects, as well as venture funds, acceleration programs, corporate incubators and global technology brands. The integration of Uzbek startups into this ecosystem will open up access to international accelerators, investment sources and European Union markets.
Current IT Park programs were presented at the meeting, as well as the participation of French companies already operating in Uzbekistan. Both sides expressed interest in creating a sustainable platform for the exchange of innovations, knowledge and technological expertise.
Special attention is paid to supporting women in the ICT sector. In October 2024, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with an international organization Women in TechIt aims to develop women's digital skills, support their professional growth, and promote women-based startups to export markets. The programs cover training, employment, and mentoring focused on increasing women's participation in global digital business.
Cooperation between the two countries is also developing at the institutional level. In April 2025, a memorandum of understanding was signed between IT Park and the Franco-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFO), aimed at strengthening business contacts and promoting outsourcing as a promising area for investment.
In June 2025, the IT Park delegation took part in the international technology exhibition Viva Technology 2025, one of Europe's leading platforms for digital innovation. On June 17, a specialized conference on outsourcing in Uzbekistan was held in Paris with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France. It became a key event for establishing direct business contacts between Uzbek and French IT companies.
IT Park of Uzbekistan continues its course towards international integration and expansion of the country's export opportunities in the field of high technologies. Cooperation with France is becoming part of a broader strategy to turn Uzbekistan into a reliable partner for European businesses and establish the status of a global IT hub in Central Asia.
